Happy day after Christmas! I hope everyone had a very merry holiday.
Now that Christmas is over and I’m putting away the decorations, I need to get myself back on the proper eating track. I knew that I would need a bit of a body reset after the holidays-I can feel the inflammation in my joints, my sleep is off and my skin is starting to show the eczema from the dairy I’ve been inhaling.
I knew all of these things would happen, I am very aware of how food affects my body since finding out I have celiac (3 years ago). That doesn’t stop me from having fun and eating things I don’t normally eat (no wheat/gluten ever) -food is a big part of my life and I will forever enjoy it! I don’t partake very often, but when I do, I know what I have to do to get myself back on track.
Starting January 2, I am starting the Whole30. You may or may not have heard about the Whole 30-if you haven’t, it’s basically a great way to reset your body, with food, to feel better, sleep better, have more energy, more mental clarity…I could go on and on.
I’m not going to call this a diet. It’s a way to get rid of the junk we put in it, feel better and hopefully, you’ll feel SO GOOD that you just eat this way on a day to day basis. During this time, you’ll go through ups and downs – you are detoxing from bad food. We typically don’t think of food in that way, do we? Like a drug. It is, and there is tons of data to support that (a great place to start is It Starts with Food by Dallas and Melissa Hartwig).
I want to invite you to join me on this Whole 30 journey. Grab your friends, your family and support each other during these 30 days.
Follow my blog for daily updates, recipes, and resources that will help you achieve a successful 30 day body reset. Interested in additional support? Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and let’s talk.
Mark your calendars – January 2, 2014. Let’s feel the best we can in 2014!
